About Schitt's Creek

About the town

Leave your big city cares behind and come visit Schitt's Creek! With our friendly faces and quaint surroundings, it's no wonder that last year's tourist numbers were in the tens. And most of those people came on purpose!

On occasion, Schitt's Creek has been called “an armpit of a town,” and some people might think that's an insult. But where would we be without armpits? We'd be armless, that's where.

When you arrive, be sure to take a scenic drive down Main Street, where you'll spot Bob's Garage, the Tropical Café and the General Store. Still not satisfied? Turn the car around and drive back down Main Street. Now the sights that were on the left are on the right, and vice versa. The options are limitless.

With 4,500 mostly unpopulated acres to explore, Schitt's Creek is great for families, too. The kids will love our many open fields and our shady wooded areas are ideal for prolonged games of hide-and-seek.

So if you're looking for a change of pace, and especially if the pace you're looking for is “slow,” then hurry on down to Schitt's Creek—a small but happy town where everyone fits in.

Johnny Rose

Father of David Rose

Johnny Rose

As the founder and CEO of the hugely successful video store chain Rose Video, Johnny Rose never made a bad business decision in his life. Except for the decision to hire a business manager who would ultimately screw Johnny and his family out of their entire fortune and livelihood. Fortunately, the government allowed Johnny to retain ownership of the town of Schitt's Creek, which he bought for his son David as a joke. Now that he and his family are living in the Schitt's Creek Motel, Johnny is determined to rebuild his image as a polished businessman and leader, encouraging the Roses to avoid “low- bottom” behavior, and aspiring to raise the town from its current “cheap-ass” status. Deeply loving of his wife Moira, and fiercely protective of his children David and Alexis, Johnny remains the head of the household, even if that household consists of adjoining rooms at a rundown motel.

MOIRA ROSE

Wine Enthusiast

MOIRA ROSE

As the star of the soap opera Sunrise Bay, Moira Rose was best known for boldly slapping other characters when they got out of line. But now Moira has received her own slap in the face, having lost her fortune and most of her personal belongings, except for an extensive collection of individually named wigs. Moira has been happily married to Johnny ever since she was invited to cut the ribbon at one of his video store openings during her acting heyday. Having enjoyed a career that spanned multiple decades—from the late-80s to the very early- 90s—Moira still possesses a flair for the dramatic. She's not afraid to show off her sultry singing voice, and can often be found with a martini in hand, which she might enjoy with an olive or, if she has happened to Google herself that day, with a dash of anti-depressants. Despite being an experienced fundraiser who no longer has any funds for herself, Moira remains the strong and spirited matriarch of the Rose family.

David Rose

Owner of Schitt's Creek

David Rose

David Rose is the official owner of Schitt's Creek, having been gifted the town by his father Johnny as a joke on his eighteenth birthday. Having worked as a gallerist in New York City, David has curated many avant-garde exhibitions and performance art pieces, but he has failed to cultivate many friends. Now, sharing a room with his sister Alexis at the Schitt's Creek Motel, he realizes that the friends he has made are giving him a very respectful amount of space. David finds a kindred spirit in the motel's receptionist, Stevie Budd, who shares David's dry sense of humor and general distaste for other people. With Stevie's help, David is slowly readjusting to his life in Schitt's Creek, aside from a few obsessive-compulsive tendencies, occasional hypochondriac episodes, and slight but persisting fears of insects, germs, nature, plaid, and intimacy.

ALEXIS Rose

Rose Family Daughter

ALEXIS Rose

As the wealthy daughter of Johnny and Moira, Alexis Rose was a well-known socialite whose many relationships with high- powered men made her a world traveler, minor celebrity, and occasional party to illegal activity. While Alexis's busy social life left her little time to explore a career, she did work briefly as a child actor with her brother David, and she also started her own line of edible nail polish, with flavors like “Passionate Pomegranate,” “Sexy Sage” and “Nail Polish.” Now that Alexis is stuck in Schitt's Creek, her dating options are limited, but she does spend time with a rugged local named Mutt while serving community service for accidentally entering the Prada store inside a car. Alexis is kindhearted to a fault, which means that she's often juggling multiple relationships. She loves to gossip about other people's lives, but she has nothing but good things to say... about herself.

ROLAND N. SCHITT

Mayor of Schitt's Creek

ROLAND N. SCHITT

Roland Schitt is the Mayor of Schitt's Creek, following in a long line of Schitts who have governed the town with the attitude of, “If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And if it is broke, also don't fix it.” Before marrying Jocelyn, Roland enjoyed an active love life, making full use of every room in the Schitt's Creek Motel—a fact he likes to share with its current guests. In addition to being Mayor, Roland considers himself the Law in Schitt's Creek, though he's willing to bend a few rules for his new friend Johnny. Roland loves to remind Johnny not to bite the hand that feeds him, even if that hand is wrist-deep in a bowl of mac and cheese.

x

Jocelyn Schitt

Teacher

Jocelyn Schitt

As the wife of Roland, the town's mayor, Jocelyn Schitt considers herself to be the First Lady of Schitt's Creek, and acts as the de facto leader of its ladies. She also takes pleasure in being the object of sexual fantasy for a number of Schitt's Creek men—though these men are mostly boys in her elementary school class. Jocelyn is so popular that “The Jocelyn” is a hairstyle available at Jeanine's Salon—and like Jocelyn, it's blonde, bouncy and a little overblown. Jocelyn is determined to make Moira Rose the latest addition to her circle of friends, whether Moira likes it or not.

x

Stevie Budd

Motel Receptionist

Stevie Budd

As the receptionist at the Schitt's Creek Motel, Stevie Budd provides service with a smile... though the smile is most likely sarcastic, and usually followed by a biting remark. Having grown up in Schitt's Creek, Stevie knows far too much about all of its inhabitants, and the Roses—particularly David—offer a refreshing change from tailgate parties and cow-tipping townies. As a guest of the motel, you might call Stevie rude, but that kind of flattery will get you nowhere.

x

Ray Butani

Real Estate Agent

Ray Butani

Ray Butani is by far the best real estate agent in Schitt's Creek, and also the only one. If the first rule of real estate is “location, location, location,” then Ray must have skipped down to the second rule. But Ray does his best to provide information—even if it's far too much information—on the little he has to offer.

x

Mutt

Town Hottie

Mutt

Mutt is a rugged farm boy who turns the heads of the young ladies of Schitt's Creek—especially Alexis Rose. A lover of nature, Mutt collects compostable materials on behalf of the town, but his love of certain plants has landed him in community service with Alexis. Mutt isn't much of a conversationalist, but when Alexis's jaw is hanging open, staring at his washboard abs, there's not much to talk about anyway.

x

Twyla Sands

Waitress

Twyla Sands

Twyla Sands is the friendly waitress at the local café who's always ready to lend a sympathetic ear to the Roses, even if there are other customers waiting, and even if the Roses' problems might seem petty compared to, say, having a father in prison. Twyla is particularly proud of her signature creations, like the "Surprise-Me-Smoothie" and the "Greens-Free Salad."

x

TED MULLENS

Veterinarian

TED MULLENS

If you're looking for a doctor in Schitt's Creek, Ted is your man. Though hopefully you're not a man, because Ted is actually a veterinarian. Even though he may seem sweet and cute, Ted considers himself a bit of a bad boy, sometimes cutting his PB&J sandwiches into triangles instead of rectangles or putting tiny hats on the pets when there's no one else around.

x

BOB CURRIE

Town Council

BOB CURRIE

Bob Currie is a member of Town Council, a cheerful mechanic, and the owner of Bob's Garage. Bob loves trying to help Johnny out, though he always seems to frustrate Johnny's plans, even if he does so with a great big smile on his face. There's nothing Bob enjoys more than sharing a magazine, or the latest Rose misadventure, with his handsome wife Gwen.

x

Ronnie Lee

Town Hall

Ronnie Lee

Ronnie Lee is the Town Council member who oversees Alexis's involvement in community service, though in general she feels that the Roses are more of a disservice to the community.
